A total of three products from Villeroy & Boch’s Bathroom and Wellness Division were awarded prizes this year, with two of them winning the prestigious international design award, the Red Dot Award: the Antheus premium collection and the ViClean-I 100 shower toilet, which also won the notable Blue Innovation Award. The state-of-the-art O.novo Kids collection was doubly impressive as well, scooping both the Universal Consumer Award and the Universal Design Expert Award.
Antheus – unique shapes with an exciting blend of materials
Fine materials, balanced proportions and geometric contours inspired by the playfulness of Art Deco and the puristic clarity of Bauhaus – this is Antheus, Villeroy & Boch’s new premium collection of lasting beauty. The exclusive Antheus design was developed by the designer Christian Haas who has also created tableware, glassware and furniture as well as complete interior concepts for renowned customers all over the world. Haas combined lightness and elegance with a contemporary classic look wrapped in an unusual yet timeless design to create Antheus. Unique shapes with an exciting blend of materials are the outcome of this collection, which was awarded the Red Dot Award, one of the most renowned awards for high design quality, in the Product Design category.
ViClean-I 100 – design revolution in shower toilets
By launching ViClean-I 100, Villeroy & Boch has created a real toilet highlight for any bathroom. Shower toilets have been gaining popularity thanks to the hygienic benefits of cleaning with fresh water – and ViClean-I 100 has captured the spirit of the times. At first glance, it looks like a conventional, wall-mounted toilet. But behind the pared-down design lies a high-quality shower toilet that comes with comfortable operability, innovative technology and cleans thoroughly yet gently. As the technology is integrated in the ceramic rather than the seat, the modern toilet can blend very elegantly with its surroundings. This is how the innovative design of the toilet was able to impress the Red Dot Award jury and win in the Product Design category. As the new toilet also provides an energy-saving solution, ViClean-I 100 received the silver Blue Innovation Award.
O.novo Kids – state-of-the-art technology and clever products
O.novo Kids. A grown-up world for little heroes. This is the banner under which Villeroy & Boch is presenting a new bathroom collection designed especially for sanitary areas in crèches, nursery schools and primary schools. The products consider children’s needs and capabilities in relation to the use of toilets and washing facilities while incorporating the practical experience of nursery school teachers and the requirements of project planners and decision-makers. One of the highlights of O.novo Kids is the new multiple washbasin installation with trap covers, the first ceramic product on the market to feature three areas with three different heights and depths over a continuous length. Thanks to its clever design, O.novo Kids is a double winner – the collection was awarded the Universal Consumer Award and the Universal Design Expert Award.
